During this unprecedented time and the adjustment to the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, rest assured that the personnel of Lisbon Emergency continue to serve our community. Our level of compassionate, quality emergency care has not changed, and we are committed to continuing to provide emergency care 24/7 for all who call or need ambulance service. We have comprehensive plans in place to consistently provide ambulance coverage even if call volumes increase due to COVID-19. Lisbon Emergency is in daily contact with Maine Emergency Management Services (EMS), the Regional EMS Office, Maine Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Androscoggin EMA, Maine Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US CDC, including participation via teleconference and virtual meetings. Lisbon Emergency is following all current guidelines, as set by Maine EMS and Maine CDC, for patient care, for the safety and health care of our providers, and for containment efforts.
Lisbon Emergency personnel will ask all patients if they have a new cough, a fever over 100.1 and whether they are aware of exposure to anyone that has or had COVID-19. Our personnel may arrive on-scene already in protective equipment, which is for the benefit of patients as well as for their safety and the safety of hospital staff. Lisbon Emergency also has a detailed decontamination program in place for all equipment, including the ambulance that is used after each patient transport. Any questions or concerns regarding our service and the specific safety precautions summarized here can be directed to Lisbon Emergency through our website: lisbonemergency.org. If you have specific questions regarding COVID-19, you may call 211. Please be assured that Lisbon Emergency will continue to provide pre-hospital emergency medical care throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and long after this outbreak has ended.
